Whats the difference of cooking chinesse food with a wok, than your regular frying/sauce or pan?

I just received a wok pan as a wedding gift. I love chinese food and I do some cooking like teriyaki, sesame chicken with veggies...but I really want to know how I am supposed to cook with the wok..are there any special instructions? should I cook on it the same way i cooked on other pans??Any info that i should know? Any different flavor the wok will give to my food?? Anything will help ...thanks!Whats the difference of cooking chinesse food with a wok, than your regular frying/sauce or pan?
It makes the whole process of stir-frying easier. Not only is the shape better for stirring, but you can toss the contents in the air far more easily with a wok than wth a Western-styled pan. No, it won't make a difference in the flavor (unless you don't do a good job of cleaning it after use!); that's what the oild and spices are for. Any good Chinese or Japanese cookbook will give you an endless supply of tips. It'll take a bit of practice, but it's easy to get used to using. Good luck!Whats the difference of cooking chinesse food with a wok, than your regular frying/sauce or pan?

It looks trendy and you have a conversation topic while eating.
a wok just makes it easier in a full service kitchen. They also use a jet burner in traditional Chinese kitchen. you can try all kinds of different methods of preparing Chinese.the most important aspect is the recipe
a wok cooks food much faster than a regular frying.you add the oil and let it get really hot and then add your food.

make sure you clean it real good after each use.
